Wireless phone
Wireless phones have rapidly become an integral part of society. This is due in large part to the increasing number of services and functions available from the wireless phone industry. Wireless phone service providers typically allow a wireless phone subscriber to place calls at any time. Cellular, PCS and other services provide wireless personal communications to businesses and individuals at home, in the office, on the road, and virtually anywhere the wireless network reaches. Cellular mobile telephony, or wireless telephony, provides voice data links between users of mobile devices and fixed devices on a network. It gives users using a wireless phone mobility without regard to how they are actually connected to the network. Wireless mobile phones offer the advantage of enabling their users to be communicatively reachable by their business associates, friends and family members, wherever the users may be, as long as they are within the reach of the service networks. Wireless telephone subscribers no longer have to stop at pay telephones along the road, or wait until they return home or to the office to check messages and return important business calls. A mobile or wireless phone integrates numerous complex circuits. An RF transceiver is used to provide the wireless communication link with base stations. The RF transceiver is comprised of a receiver and a transmitter. The antenna, interfaced to the mobile unit, receives the RF transmission from the base station and outputs the signal to the receiver. In wireless telephone systems, a cordless or wireless telephone handset unit communicates via either analog or digital radio signals with a base unit, which is typically connected via a standard telephone line to an external telephone network.
