Citizens band (CB) radio
Citizens band (CB) radio is one type of mobile wireless radio which uses amplitude modulation (AM) upon a carrier frequency to transmit or receive voice signals in a half duplex manner. Citizen Band radio frequencies are in the relatively narrow range of 26.95 to 27.405 MHz. The Family Radio Service (FRS) is one of the citizens band radio services. It is intended for the use of family, friends, and associates to communicate among themselves within a neighborhood or while on group outings. The CB radio is popular among drivers of all types of vehicles. It serves primarily as a ready means of communication between the drivers and is a particularly valuable asset when a driver wishes to reach the police or any other emergency service within the range of his radio transmitter.
