Timer switch
Various electrical appliances such as, for example, air conditioners, neon lights, illuminators, electric heater, water pumps, etc. may be used daily at a fixed time period. Because these electric appliances are controlled manually, people may forget to turn on/off the switch timely. In case of a power failure, these electrical appliances must be turned on again manually. If an electrical appliance keeps operating for an extended length or time frequently, much power supply will be wasted, and the service life of the electric appliance will be shortened greatly. Accordingly a timer switch is developed to provide time-of-day control of lighting, heating, air conditioning, pumps, motors or general electrical circuits. They are commonly used in residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural facilities. An electromechanical time switch is an electric motor driven clock mechanism which operates an electrical switch to automatically activate electrical devices or circuits at pre-selected times and intervals. The electric motor driving the clock mechanism may be an alternating current synchronous motor or a direct current stepping motor pulsed by a quartz crystal oscillator. The time switch comprises a timer housing incorporating an electric timer with the quarts oscillator, and a switch housing having input terminals for electrical connection with an electric power source, output terminals for electrical connection with an electric appliance. A display housing is formed on its surface with input buttons for entering set times into the electric timer and a liquid crystal display for the set times.
