Piezo generator
One promising technology is the piezoelectric generator, as it is capable of converting mechanical pressure into electrical energy. Ceramic multilayer generators are built up with a number of thin ceramic layers sandwiched between internal electrodes, resulting in a low output voltage but high current compared to conventional single layer piezoelectric generators.
In certain applications this feature is highly beneficial, due to the required capacitance/impedance match between generator and load. Single layer generators are typically used as spark igniters, utilizing the high output voltage levels.
