Electronic calculator

A calculator can be used to perform calculations by inputting numerical information and function information according to a calculating formula for obtaining calculation results with ten numerical keys and function keys on the keyboard. Calculators have been widely used in a variety of fields in our daily lives due to their powerful functions. Calculators are used in shopping, accounting, mathematics, engineering, and statistics for providing simple functions such as arithmetic calculations or complicated functions such as scientific operations. Small calculators, e.g., pocket calculators, handheld calculators and desk-top calculators, require appropriate power supplies so as to support normal functions thereof. Such power supplies are classified into two types: batteries and solar cells. Multifunction keys are now widely employed in the more sophisticated scientific and business calculators to permit some or all of the keys to serve different functions, depending upon the previous actuation of one or more of the selection or shift keys. A number of electronic calculators available today not only have the ability to perform sophisticated mathematical operations but they are programmable as well, enabling the calculator user to store a program of manipulative operations for later utilization.
