Printer ink cartridge (inkjet cartridge)
Ink jet printers have been used extensively as they are simple in structure and are capable of high quality high speed printing. Iinkjet printers include an ink jet head, an ink jet mounting unit, and an ink cartridge. The inkjet head ejects ink droplets onto a recoding medium to thereby form images thereon. Typically, an inkjet printer has a construction in which an ink cartridge filled with an ink are adopted to be installed to or mounted on a cartridge case. In such a printer, the ink contained in the ink cartridge mounted on the cartridge case is supplied to a recording head main body through an ink supply needle. Ink cartridges for inkjet printers generally contain one or more ink reservoirs, a means of supplying ink to a print head which contains a number of ink microchambers each having an orifice or nozzle, and electrical circuitry to control the operation of the nozzles. The cartridge typically includes an internal ink reservoir and a printhead. The printhead includes nozzles through which ink droplets are ejected. Ink is drawn from the reservoir into the nozzles. The nozzle assembly generally defines one or more capillary passages into which ink from the chamber is allowed to flow. The nozzle assembly is also included with each ink cartridge. The nozzle assembly is usually supported on the exterior of the wall which defines the reservoir chamber. Ink from the reservoir chamber is directly supplied to the nozzle assembly through an opening in the wall. Generally, color inkjet printers use a plurality of color inks. These printers may include a plurality of separate color ink cartridges that are independently replaceable. This structure allows the ink cartridges to be consumed completely, thus reducing costs.
