All-in-one printer, multifunction printer
Historically, copiers, printers, and fax machines have been typically individualistic, operating singly in their own separate environments. In recent years, multifunction (all in one) printers which include both facsimile and printing functions have been introduced. All in one apparatus having a plurality of functions such as printer, copier, scanner, facsimile, and e-mail functions has become common. All-in-one printers integrate scanning and copying functionality into a printer and may include standalone facsimile functionality. With such a multifunction, the user might want to cancel a print job being executed in the printer section for some reason. To do this, the user transmits a reset command from a computer connected to the multi-function printer thereto and the all in one printer cancels the print job being executed based on the reset command. The all in one printing device receives a variety of image data using a plurality of different data receiving units, such as a PC interface, an image scanner, a facsimile modem, and a video output terminal. The received image data is stored in a RAM provided to the all in one printer while processed into print data. Then, the all in one printing device executes printing operations for forming an image based on the print data.
