Table lamp

Table lamps are common illuminators which are commercially used throughout the World. A majority of table lamps in the marketplace today are provided for the major purpose of illumination, such as a reading light, bed-end light, or to light up a reading room, family room, or living room. The table lamp is a very popular lighting fixture and may be versatilely designed. A table lamp generally comprises a stand on which a bulb socket is mounted, wherein the socket is electrically connected to an external power source by way of a power cable, and a light shade used to diffuse light. Regular table lamp control switches are generally defined for power control, light intensity control, or for the both. In recent years, touch-control switch has been widely used. There are various types of table lamps available in the market. Some have colorful or cute designs to enhance their appearance or appeal to children. It has long been known to use a finial to beautify the top of a table lamp. Finials are ornamental objects often used to beautify table lamps. Finials include a decorative portion and may also include a mating portion having a threaded bore for coupling the finial with a finial receiver, also called a finial stud, of a table lamp.
