Desk lamp
Various types of lamps are known for lighting desks, tables, and other working surfaces. Examples of such lamps and lighting systems include overhead lights, floor
lamps, aesthetic lighting, and desk lamps. Such lamps generally take the form of a general lighting device or alternatively, a task lighting device. In the recent past stand alone floor lamps having a combination of general lighting and task lighting on the same structure has been provided. Various desk lamps are known and designed for use on a desk or table. Since a
desk lamp is used to write words or to draw figures, the illuminating area is typically not large. The area illuminated by a desk lamp should be brighter than any area illuminated by a table lamp. A desk lamp generally has a support mounted on a stand to hold a lamp shape and a lamp bulb or tube. Regular desk lamps are generally comprised of a lamp stand having mounted thereon a support to hold a lamp holder, in which the parts of a lamp assembly are generally connected with one another by means of fastening elements. Desk lamps, either lamp bulb or fluorescent tube type, are generally operated through AC power supply.
