Decorative light string
Decorative lighting is known for use at homes and businesses to achieve a desired architectural or visual effect. Decorative light strings are one type of well known decorative lighting that is particularly popular for use around the fall and wintertime holidays. A light string usually comprises electrical wires on which a plurality of lamp sockets are mounted for receiving lamps. In order to increase decorative effect, a decorative assembly is usually provided with the light string. For example, there are several plastic leaves directly tied on the main electrical wire. The light string may be attached to any desired article or object, such as a tree, or a window. The arrangement of the light string on an article may be in any arbitrary pattern by fixing the wires and the bulb stands to the article and to themselves. Strings of electrical conductors or wires with spaced apart sockets and incandescent lights, including miniature lights, have been available for many years for use in both interior and exterior decorations, such as Christmas decorations. Light emitting diodes (LEDs) are increasingly employed as a basic lighting source in a variety of forms, such as outdoor signage and signaling, replacement light bulbs, or decorative lighting. Most LED lamp string structures generally use a single LED to replace the conventional tungsten filament lamp and assemble the LED with attached lamp filaments in advance. The tails of the lamp filaments are then bent to make electrical contact with the lamp terminals and assembled in the interior of the lamp socket.
