Video camera

Video cameras come in many forms and sizes and can be used for a variety of purposes. Some video cameras permit the user to record the captured video signal on video tape inserted within the camera housing. The video camera for recording/storage is called camcorder which usually includes camera, recording/playback part and monitor in a unit case. Other video cameras however, merely transmit the captured video signal to a remote location for viewing on a monitor or recording on a video tape recorder (VTR). In recent years, a video camera for converting an object image imaged by a photographing optical system into an electrical signal using a photoelectric conversion element such as a solid-stage image pickup element, e.g., a CCD or a CMOS image sensor, and recording the electrical signal onto a recording medium such as a magnetic tape has become popular. The CCD image sensors used in video cameras are area sensors comprising a matrix of sensor elements or pixels. The image signal is acquired in the form of electrical charge by the sensor elements, read into a plurality of vertical transfer registers, then shifted into a horizontal transfer The personal computer market has grown rapidly in the past decade. Recent trends have focused on the configuration of the computer to perform a variety of user defined functions, including connecting to the internet and communicating with others also so connected. Video cameras have increasingly been used to augment the communication between individuals using the internet. Video cameras have become miniaturized yet so versatile that ordinary people can easily take such a camera anywhere and shoot very high quality movies.
