Tablet PC
A tablet personal computer (PC) is a mobile personal computer that has a tablet screen instead of a traditional display. The tablet PC is a fully functional personal computer, which may include an operating system environment computer. A tablet PC is designed to incorporate the power of traditional desktop or notebook computers while offering many of the portability and simplicity features available in handheld computers. The tablet PC not only is capable of running familiar productivity applications, but also offers the same connectivity to the Internet that a desktop or notebook computer provides. In a tablet computer, the processor may be part of the tablet screen. In addition to the keyboard, the tablet notebook computer provides a user interface with the processor through the tablet screen. The tablet screen is typically capable of being laid flat on the base to allow the user to write on the tablet screen with a digital pen in a manner similar to the using a pen and paper. The tablet screen is coupled to the edge of the base unit with a hinge. In addition, tablet PCs may incorporate advanced video graphics capabilities and large hard drive storage capacity. The electronic components of the computing system are positioned within the interior volume of the tablet PC housing assembly with output connectors as required disposed through the central wall of the rear housing.
