USB microphone
The Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a popular computer interface for serially connecting peripheral devices such as microphones, printers, scanners, digital cameras, so that the users may conveniently expand the equipment of a multimedia computer. The introduction of the Universal Serial Bus has facilitated connections of peripheral devices, since the USB replaces all the different kinds of serial and parallel port connectors with one standardized plug and port combination for computers having USB compatible ports. USB-compliant computers and peripherals may simply be connected with electrical cords having USB connections. USB devices include hubs and functions. Hubs provide additional attachment points to the Universal Serial Bus and may be integrated with a host, which ordinarily provides only one attachment point for connecting a hub or a function. Functions provide capabilities to the system, such as joystick, keyboard, microphone, and speaker capabilities. Almost all contemporary computer systems are configured to use USB, an external peripheral interface standard for serial communication between computer systems and external peripheral devices such as a mouse, a printer, a digital camera, and so forth. With USB, a microphone connects via a cable that plugs into a standardized USB port on the computer system.
