Karaoke microphone
Karaoke is a form of entertainment that features a live singer with pre-recorded accompaniment. A karaoke system reproduces music from popular songs and allows users to sing along into a microphone and mix their voices with the music. To prompt the singers, the karaoke unit displays the lyrics to the song on a screen. A karaoke machine is provided with a variety of operation buttons which can be used for changing a musical interval of the accompaniment, for adding audio echo effects to a user's singing voice input through the microphone, and so forth. A karaoke system is provided with a mixing function for mixing and outputting a reproduced piece of music, that is, an accompaniment and a singer's voice input from a microphone. The karaoke microphone is coupled to an audio amplifier so that a user can sing along with the audio out signal produced by the decoder board when a karaoke song is played. A background video image including the words of the song is displayed on the television monitor, while the audio background music is played through a speaker. The karaoke system generally has a built-in reverberation adding device for adding a reverberation to the voice signal, picked up by a microphone, from the singer and adding the resultant audio signal to the musical accompaniment signal.
