Karaoke machine
A karaoke machine is constructed to produce a karaoke accompaniment, which is mixed with a vocal performance of a singer. The karaoke machine mixes a vocal signal corresponding to a live singing voice inputted through a microphone to a music signal reproduced from a musical source and representative of melody and accompaniment of a karaoke music piece. The mixed signals are sounded through a loudspeaker. In its most basic form, the karaoke apparatus provides a microphone for the karaoke singer and displays lyrics or words of the selected song on a visual display device. While the karaoke singer sings the song following the displayed lyrics, the karaoke apparatus outputs his or her vocal rendition and the accompanying music to a set of speakers. Karaoke device enhances the stage and helps the singer by displaying a background image and music lyrics on a television monitor along with a musical sound. One of prevalent karaoke systems includes a host apparatus and a plurality of remote terminal apparatuses connected thereto via a communication network. This type of karaoke system is generally referred to as a "communication karaoke system". The communication karaoke system is a large-scale computer network including a host computer and a number of remote terminal apparatuses arranged nationwide communicating with the host computer via a communication network. A typical karaoke network system includes a host computer installed in a central station and, typically, a plurality of karaoke stations, each of which is installed in a business establishment. Each of the karaoke stations is connected to the host computer via a communication line that supplies karaoke song performance data from the host computer to the karaoke station.
