Center channel speaker

Home entertainment systems have become very popular today. Many people have installed complete audio/video systems at their own homes to make so called "home theaters" for enjoying individualized entertainment. High fidelity systems attempt to simulate the sound that comes from actual sound-producing objects. Real music is produced when each of a plurality of different instruments, at a different location, produces its own unique sound. Audio or sound system designs involve the consideration of many different factors. The position and number of speakers, the frequency response of each speaker, and other factors usually are considered in the design. Multichannel audio has become the standard for cinema and home theater, and is gaining rapid acceptance in music, automotive, computers, gaming and other audio applications. Multichannel audio provides a surround-sound environment that greatly enhances the listening experience and the overall presentation of any audio/visual system. Home theater surround sound systems typically comprise compact disc/digital video disc (CD/DVD) players and/or changers, audio/visual (A/V) receivers, tuners, equalizers, headphones, satellite speakers, center channel speakers, woofers, and/or subwoofers disposed in a fixedly mounted rectangular housing. Ideally, a center channel loudspeaker has good measurable sonic performance even when the listener is off-axis. Such speakers are required to have a uniform output of low frequency, mid-range frequency and high frequency components of the sound pattern for extreme clarity, even when the listener is not positioned directly in front of the center channel speaker.
