Telephone call centers are call management systems that distribute phone calls. An automatic call distributor receives incoming calls, distributes the incoming calls to operator workstations or to voice response units, and produces information that is valuable to call center managers. Data processing systems and computer networks are employed in call centers to aid in the exchanges between the agents and the consumers. Sophisticated call centre software may filter calls through interactive voice response (IVR) menus to enable certain queries processed automatically and appropriately. Call centers are widely used to provide services in both the commercial and governmental sectors. Call centers are used for reservation centers, sales calls, customer services, and technical support. |

An audio mixer is used for combining multiple voice and music sources. An audio mixing console presents arrays of input devices, such as switches, knobs, and faders, for an operator to set to condition and route audio signals. Mixing techniques in audio systems involve the summation of two or more source audio signals to produce a combined audio signal output. In a typical mixing production, several inputs are coupled to the mixing console with a separate audio channel provided for each input. Surround-sound mixing consoles currently available on the market generally contain a bus matrix that is expanded to several output channels. Studios used by artists, producers or engineers use mixing consoles to produce music for live performances, compact discs, television or films. |

Notebook computers, also known as laptop computers, are widely used by persons who require a mobile computer system. A docking station is used with a notebook computer as a way of expanding the functions of the notebook computer. Docking stations are typically used to interface portable computers to other computer peripherals, such as computer monitors, optical disk drives, full-size keyboards, pointing devices such as trackballs or mice, digital cameras, and other devices. A docking station has a port replicator hat allows the portable computer to interface with peripheral devices. The port replicator is coupled to an expansion port positioned on the rear side of the portable computer, to allow the electrical and mechanical connection of the portable computer with the docking station. |

High-definition television (HDTV) is a digital television format which provides approximately twice the vertical and horizontal resolution of existing television standards. A HDTV displays a highly finely defined television picture on a wide screen having a large display area so as to provide novel attractive features which cannot be exhibited by the current conventional television broadcasting. MPEG video data is used to support HDTV wherein the video frames are of higher resolution than those used in NTSC signals. MPEG-2 standard defines a complex syntax which contains a mixture of data and control information. A HDTV receiver receives an HDTV broadcast so that a user can view the broadcast. HDTV is especially advantageous for use in wide screen theater and home TV projection. |

Digital electronic products, such as digital camera, MP3 player, cellular phone, video camcorder, etc., are required with larger capacity of storage media to satisfy the demand of digital images and music with higher qualities. The removable memory cards allow users to capture and store data on such devices, and easily transport the data between these various devices and a desktop or laptop computer. A memory card using an electrically erasable and writable non-volatile memory and a memory controller which performs an access control for the memory and an external interface control. Flash memory cards of different sizes and specifications have been developed, such as SM (smart media card), MMC (multimedia card), SD (secure digital card), XD (xD piture card), and MS (memory stick). |

A superluminescent diode (SLD) is a light source with properties intermediate between those of a light-emitting diode (LED) and laser diode. LEDs operating at relatively high powers and having a relatively broad spectral width are called superluminescent light-emitting diodes. Superluminescent diodes are characterized by very much higher power output than LEDs, and by broad band radiation as compared with the narrow spectral frequencies of lasers. SLDs can emit low coherent light at high output power with good directionality. Superluminescent diodes are used in applications such as fiber optic gyroscopes, fiber optic sensors, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and optical communications. SLD is the most suitable light source for the fiber optic rotation sensor. |

Digital-to-analog converters (DACs) serve to convert a digital input code into the corresponding analog output voltage. A current mode DAC generates a differential current output that is typically applied to a current-to-voltage converting amplifier to produce a differential voltage output. A high resolution, high speed DAC may find applications in cellular base stations, wireless communications, direct digital frequency synthesis, signal reconstruction, test equipment, high resolution imaging systems and arbitrary waveform generators. A DAC is an important component for processing video signals and displaying still and sub pictures in imaging systems such as televisions, video tape recorders, digital cameras, and various multimedia electronics. The delta sigma DAC is widely used in audio equipment. |
