A keyboard is the part of a computer system that enables the user to control certain aspects of the computer. Keyboards typically come in two basic configurations: wired and wireless. Wireless keyboards have a number of advantages over the more common wire connected keyboards employed in computer systems. Wireless keyboards reduce the amount of wires connected over or around a desktop. Wireless keyboard transmits data to the central processing unit of the computer via either radio frequency (RF) signals or infrared (IR) signals. An infrared wireless keyboard simply uses an infrared transmitter in the keyboard and an infrared receiver in a computing apparatuses to establish a link between the keyboard and the computing apparatus. RF wireless keyboards use RF antennas for transmitting RF signals. |

Machine vision technology deals with the automated analysis of an image to determine characteristics of objects and other features shown in the image. A machine vision system provides automated, computer-based image processing capabilities that can be customized for various vision tasks. Machine vision systems acquire images of an environment, process the images to detect objects and features in the images and then analyze the processed images to determine characteristics of objects and other features detected in the images. In machine vision, image enhancement techniques are used to process image data to facilitate operator and automated analysis. Machine vision systems are increasingly employed to replace human vision in a wide range of processes such as manufacturing operations. |

Radio frequency modulation techniques are used for transmitting information on a carrier signal. Frequency modulated (FM) signals are widely used in many communication devices for communicating messages and other types of information. In frequency modulation, the frequency of a carrier is changed in response to the amplitude of the modulating signal. The information signal may be an analog signal such as an audio signal or it may be a digital signal. Frequency modulators normally comprise an oscillator responsive to an amplitude variable signal for producing a corresponding frequency variable signal. To modulate the frequency being generated by the frequency resonator tank circuit, a modulation signal is routed via resistor to inductor, capacitor and modulation varactor. |

Microprocessors may implement the technique of overlapping a fetching stage, a decoding stage, an execution stage and possibly a write back stage. A typical microprocessor includes a memory storing a program and various data, a processor core executing the program stored in memory, an external bus interface serving as an interface portion with respect to external bus, a processor bus for interconnecting processor core, memory and external bus interface, and an external event request signal input terminal connected to test circuit. Cache memories can be used to reduce memory access time in response to a speed difference between microprocessors and memories. Pipelined processors are developed to improve or increase the instruction flow through a microprocessor. |

Optical fibers are used to transmit light signals from one place to another for a variety of applications. Optical fiber is useful in communication networks to transmit digital and analog information via modulated optical signals. Fiber optic systems provide significantly higher bandwidth and greater performance and reliability than standard copper wire systems. A fiber optic cable comprises an optical fiber concentrically surrounded by a series of protective layers. Optical fiber communication systems comprise a modulated laser source, a length of optical transmission fiber and a receiver. Optical switches are used to selectively couple light from an input fiber to an output fiber. Fiber optic sensors offer many advantages over conventional electronic sensors used to measure temperature, strain, ultrasonic pressure. |

Signal conditioners are used to optimally condition an output signal in a data acquisition system (DAQ). A data acquisition system includes transducers, transmitters, and amplifiers for provision of the signal representation by their measurement and/or monitoring. Most sensors and transducers generate signals that must be conditioned before a DAQ device can reliably and accurately acquire the signal. Data acquisition systems may be coupled to sensing and other input devices by signal lines, some providing analog signals, and digital signals. Adaptive signal conditioning systems are used for adaptively conditioning the input signal to a signal conversion system. Signal conditioning is critically important for wireless systems because electronic inputs can have different characteristics and ranges. |

Outdoor landscape and edge lighting has becoming increasingly popular through recent years. In order to enhance the appearance of residential and commercial properties, decorative lighting arrangements are commonly used to outline and illuminate the walkways, flower gardens, sidewalks and driveways of the properties. Various types of outdoor landscape lighting fixtures are known. They include fixtures with lamps having wide beams of light, narrow accent lights, flood lights, and spot lights. Such fixtures typically serve both utilitarian and decorative purposes. Most lighting fixtures are located at or near ground level employing attractive fixtures which blend into the landscape. Outdoor lighting systems generally use of low-voltage lighting having a transformer that supplies electric current. |
