A stage lamp provides colorful light effects for a stage. A good light effect provides a good background to the whole performance and makes the audience focus on the performers. A wide variety of stage lamps have been designed to provide desired light effect. For stage lighting control according to conventional methods, a variety of lamps of different luminous intensity are mounted at different locations around a stage. During performance, the lamps are respectively controlled by means of respective control switches. A typical stage lamp includes a computer-controlled lamp with a light source and a rotating disc carrying various patterns thereon mounted in a casing. Light from the light source passes through a pattern on the rotating disc and a lens and is thus incident to a reflective mechanism from which the incident light is reflected, thereby providing colorful reflective images. Lighting for stage productions is generally based upon a dual lighting system. The basic lighting is the spotlight that illuminates the performers as they move around the stage. In backup tandem with the spotlight is an image-casting lighting system that projects onto the stage continuous moving images that are aimed at a display area of the stage. A spotlight for stage lighting typically involves many adjustments. The spotlight and the associated beam modification devices can be moved about horizontal and vertical axes that enable the spotlight to cast its beam upon and follow a performer about the stage. Rotary lamps have been commonly used by stage designer to match with colored glass for producing variable lighting effect.
