In-ground landscape lighting such as driveway and landscape lighting has become more and more popular over the past several years. Typically, the lights are installed in a series along driveways, walkways, and other areas sought to be lighted. In use, landscape lights provide pleasant illumination which improves the safety, appearance, and security of properties which employ them. The lights identify and illuminate the pathway while creating a distinctive lighting pattern. Similar lighting is often used along decorative flower beds and patio borders, to highlight ponds and garden features, and to otherwise light and decorate residential and commercial grounds as part of the overall landscaping. The outdoor lighting devices which are used for lighting gardens are generally of a vertical configuration where a lighting device is integrally mounted on a metal post or spike so that the spike may be driven into the ground so as to provide the stabilization necessary to keep the light in its vertical orientation. High and low voltage landscape lights are often mounted on rigid poles inserted at one end into the ground or into concrete. Wires connect lamps located inside the light to a distant electricity source. In addition to lamps mounted on poles at some height for area illumination, there has been a demand for lamps on short posts or stands for illuminating walkways or shrubbery. A conventional standing decorative garden lamp includes a transparent decorative tube and a standing rod, which inserts into ground while the tube is provided with some light assemblies inside.
