Ceiling lighting is widely used, especially in building space dedicated to commercial or institutional use, such as offices, stores, restaurants and schools. Lighting fixtures including fluorescent lighting fixtures have long been mounted to ceilings such as drywall ceilings and inverted T-grid ceilings such that portions of the lighting fixture extend from the plane of the ceiling to provide an operational function, a decorative function or both. Conventional ceiling fixtures generally include a ceiling plate fastening to a preformed cavity on the ceiling  through screws, a holding dish fastened to the ceiling plate for coupling with a ceiling lamp through fastening screws. By far the most common type of ceiling lighting is provided by ceiling fluorescent tubes, which are well suited to providing a diffuse and high level of illumination. Certain kinds of fluorescent lighting fixtures are configured to mount to a ceiling in proximity to a junction box which is mounted to the ceiling either in a recessed configuration or in a configuration which is flushly mounted to planar surfaces of the ceiling. A recessed ceiling lighting fixture is a common type of lighting fixture in which a housing is located recessed within a ceiling. A lightbulb or lamp located within the housing is positioned. The fixture housing is designed to accommodate a lamp up to a certain rated wattage, the rated wattage depending upon the housing design and the location of the fixture. Ceiling lighting fixtures typically include a reflector or a diffuser for directing the light from the tube or bulb or the lamp or lamps of the fixture downwardly into the room. The main function of the diffuser is to hide the tubes or bulbs so people in the room cannot see the intense light of the lamps themselves, especially in the case of incandescent lamps.
