Tubular heaters are resistance heaters used in heating fluids, namely, gases and liquids, by flowing the fluid down the inside or over the outside (with a containment structure) of the tubular heater. A tubular heater that has at least one heatable section and at least one unheated section. The heatable section generally includes a heating element coil that is helically-wound of electrically resistive material, surrounded by an insulating filler material, such as magnesium oxide, which is then surrounded by an outer metal sheath. The unheated section generally has a power pin (cold pin). The cold section is surrounded by an insulating filler material that is, in turn, surrounded by a metal sheath similar to the sheath used in the heatable section. The heating elements are often placed in a meandering channel formed in the mold or mold plate where heat is desired. A tubular heater is manually bendable to fit into a channel comprises a heating element positioned in an insulative material such as magnesium oxide and encased in a continuous inner nickel tubular sheathing.
