With the advance of a digital technology, a number of removable disk drives have been developed for
desktop computer,
laptop computer,
PDA (personal digital assistant), a handy game machine,
digital camera, and
camcorder. Such storage media are in various forms, including a magnetic disk, an optical disk, a semiconductor memory, and a magnetic tape device. The semiconductor
flash memory is becoming popular because it is small in power consumption, immune from troubles because of no mechanism, and high in data transfer rate. Most removal storage products include a docking base coupled to a computer system and have a power supply and computer interface, with the disk drive itself being removable from the docking base.
