Manufacturers : Cables and connectors : Circular connectors

Circular connectors are used to removably couple a plurality of signal or power leads from a cable or a piece of equipment to another cable or piece of equipment.  An electrical circular connector includes a cylindrical post and a base which carried a layer of solder. Typical circular connectors have pins mounted into an insert within the connectors. Disposed around the insert is a movable coupling nut which can be twisted to allow the coupling nut to threadedly engage the mating receptacle connector. Miniature circular DIN connectors comprise a plurality of pin or socket terminals which are mounted in a nonconductive housing and which are electrically connected to conductive leads. Miniature circular DIN connectors are employed with computers, audio equipment, video equipment and other electrical components to enable the connection of one such component to another.
