Cable trays are devices mounted on walls or suspended from ceilings for carrying cables such as for communications, computers, power transmission, etc. Cable tray systems are used in many applications where electrical conductors, typically large gauge electrical conductors, are required to operably link remotely located electrical components. The cable tray provides a rigid structure which is anchored along a predetermined pathway to facilitate the routing and support of electrical conductors. These cable trays are normally supported from a wall or a ceiling at levels which are above a person's head in order to avoid obstructing normal floor space. In computer network installations, cable trays are used for routing network cables along the ceiling of a dedicated room to upright components known as racks. Occasionally, the cable trays might be laid out on top of the racks. A cable tray system is an assembly of units or sections and associated fittings forming a rigid structural system used to support cables in accordance to their respective installation requirements. Typically, a particular construction project requires a variety of cable trays of different shapes and sizes to accommodate the particular layout for the cable tray system.
