Cable harnesses are widely used in electronic and electrical products today. Cable harnesses include at least one multicircuit connector terminated to an insulated multi-conductor cable. Most cable harnesses, such as double-ended and daisy chain harnesses, include several connectors terminated to a common cable segment. Cable harnesses include those which merely secure a number of cables or other workpieces together in a bundle and those which secure one or more workpieces which also incorporate a device for affixing the cable harness to another object. Miniature cable harness assemblies are commonly used to connect to input/output ports at the rear of IC (integrated circuit) cards. A common design for a harness assembly includes a connector frame holding multiple contacts, a circuit board extending rearward of the connector frame, and a stripped cable held to the rear of the board. A wiring harness for use in an automobile usually comprises a plurality of electric wires and connectors and has a complicatedly-branched geometry. A fiber optic cable harness typically consists of multiple cable segments secured in a bundle. The fiber optic cable harness is usually constructed by tying a bundle of fiber optic cables with cable ties.
