A variety of devices are used to secure electrical cables in the branch circuit apertures of electrical distribution panels. A kind of cable clamp which has been used for cables having wire strength components, includes an inner sleeve which is threaded on its outer surface behind the shoulder. The wire strength components of the cable are folded back over the flange into engagement with the rearwardly facing shoulder. A nut is then threaded forwardly over the inner sleeve so that its forward edge butts against the rearwardly facing shoulder of the flange to clamp the wire strength members therebetween. A type of clamp commonly used for high tension power cable suspension employs a pair of upper and lower clamp body portions that sandwich the cable in vertical fashion and are clamped using bolts, rods, or other fasteners. These cable clamps are formed from a plurality of parts which remain separate until assembly in the field. Various types of strain relief clamps are in existence today. Some devices use a cable or wire bundle guide arm such as the wire bundle guide arm. Saddle clamp type strain relief clamps use an assembly of screws, nuts and lock washers to accomplish clamping of the cable wherein the assembly of parts are generally exposed. Cable clamps have generally been designed to retain a cable having a predetermined diameter. But a cable clamp which will adapt to and hold firmly cables of various diameters is also available.
